The Yan’an Experience of modern Chinese Literature

The Yan'an experience of modern Chinese literature is a challenge and breakthrough to the traditional perception of Yan'an literature by placing Yan'an literature in the broader context of Republican literature from the perspective of "cultural strategy".

In contrast to the traditional perspectives of "literary policy," "political culture," and "geopolitics" often used in the study of Yan'an literature, "cultural strategy" effectively links the social and literary contexts, and projects the research horizon both inside and outside Yan'an.

It is because of this change in perspective that this book's study of the united front, the assault culture, the Rectification Movement and the linkage between Yan'an literature, and its reconceptualization of the creation of "true stories", the "poor people's joy" narrative and the "going to the countryside" movement, reveals what has not been seen before and explores the subtleties of history.

By placing this book in the series of "History of Republican Literature", not only is "Yan'an Literature" rightfully a part of "Republican Literature", but the research process of this book also consciously practices the methodology of Republican literature research and highlights the "space" consciousness in literary history research, so its significance is not only a new understanding of Yan'an literature, but also a breakthrough in methodology.
