Exhibition by Juliana Herrero

​Juliana Herrero was born in 1975 in Choele Choel, RN, Argentina and after moving many times in the extended Patagonia she studied dance and music at INSA in General Roca. She graduated from architecture at UBA, University of Buenos Aires. 2001 she moved from Argentina to Europe, completing in 2004 her postgraduate studies in conceptual design by Ben van Berkel, at STÄDELSCHULE joining then also there the film class led by Mark Leckey. Between 2013 and 2015 she was local artist of the Viennese studio and residence program “studio das weisse haus”. Herrero was awarded in context of the Outstanding Artists Awards – Interdisciplinarity a prize for Exceptional Achievement – Prämie für die besondere Leistungen- BKA Austria and the Premio Fundación Andreani a las Artes visuales (3rd Prize-Revelación) for her work Milieu in 2015. Her oeuvre has since been part of the collection Fundación Andreani, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In her emancipatory pieces, Juliana Herrero contrasts visual impressions with sound spaces. With her interventions, she is probing the boundaries of provocation, concentrated perception, and the utopian, leaving open space for the imagination. She focusses on processes of change at the limits of inside and outside worlds and its osmotic boundaries.

 THE BLANKETs is a platform, a supporter and a place to be.

Starting Feb 2018, the Vienna based contemporary artist Jianan Qu established a monthly exhibition program: THE BLANKETs. – a non commercial, professional, open space for young artists to share their works and experiments.

In this program, each month one(or two) selected artists will have the opportunity to make a solo(or duo) exhibition at Medo space(Vienna).
